According to the development of electric and electronic technology, many high power switch parts are applied in different kinds of electrical power resource equipment. It makes control quicker, more efficient and saving more energy. But in the other hand, with the switching to energy there will be reactive current and harmonics coming out and they will make the power wave distortion which do harm to many kinds of facilities in power system. They affect to communication net is also becoming more and more serious. Therefore, it's necessary to deal with the power grid harmonics. Traditional compensating equipments cann't follow the variety of reactive power for its fixed ipedance which will not meet the demand for quickly compensation to reactive power and harmonics. Active Power Filter is electric-eletronic equipment which can compensate to dynamic veriaty of reactive power and harmonics. It can compensate in real-time to volume and frequency of reactive power and harmonics, The research object of this paper is the Active Power Filter for harmonics and reactive power.Consideration the current research on harmonics in the power system, This paper studies a kind of APF based on TMS320F2812DSP and PM150RLA120 Intelligent Power Module, using analysis and modulate method, the Maximum value of it's current can reach 150A. This APF can monitor the real-time value of the power's system parameters and sends them to LCD for displaying, it can execute the control method quickly because of the high performace of TMS320F2812DSP, mainly compensate the 3,5,7,11 order harmonics and reactive power current. This system can also makes communication with PC throngh RS232 serial interface, The control module of LCD and keyboard were realized by Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD), greatly enhanced the maintainability of APF.This paper first discusses the harm and the restrain method for harmonics in the power system, as well as the current research background in this field. The second chapter discusses the topology structure and working principle of the APF in detail. On this basis, the third chapter talks about the various components of the circuit design with the TMS320F2812DSP and Inteligent Power Module (IPM), Chapter IV provides the detailed description of the control system software design. In Chapter V, the experiment results are analyzed. Chapter VI, the final chapter of this paper is a summary of this paper. It also gives the problems need to be focused in further study.Innovation: This paper based on the current research in power system, using the precision high-performance Fast Fourier Transform and TMS320F2812 DSP designed the intelligent active filter system, The Control Module introduced a powerful CPLD programmable logic device, and enhance the stability and maintainability of this system.
