It is generally agreed that learning behavior is caused by the learning motivation in thecognitive process of education. Learners who try to accept new knowledge prefer thegraphical, interactive visual teaching content. With the rapid development of informationtechnology, the multimedia teaching mode with its visual auditory and visual performance inall types of school level teaching process is widely accepted and used. Classroom multimediateaching content is constantly changing, the traditional texts, picture books, being replaced bythe video, audio, educational software. As a certain stage of the product, educational softwarecan reach more than present multimedia courseware. Based on virtual reality simulationtechnology is increasingly becoming a hot computer academic research at home and abroad,also becoming one of the multi-media teaching and research new direction. Through virtualreality technology restoring the real environment, learners can experience through interactivesoftware operation to complete the identification, memory course knowledge points,completion of site visits in the classroom; teaching software for virtual functions can beachieved for knowledge of giving top priority. This paper taking "The city hall roaming" asan example studies how to use existing virtual interactive technology to teaching softwaredesign and application.This article focuses on the software development process, software designing andapplication finally face the user, the needs of users are important guiding significance for thesoftware designing.First of all, educational software is designed according to the software developmentprocess. This paper first analyzed the needs of user groups by a specially craftedquestionnaire in order to completing the function structure; then using the famous3D gaminginteraction engine Virtools as the educational software carrier, analyzing of the Virtoolscomposition on the interaction engines work.Secondly, considering the users' needs, this paper takes the showroom displaying for virtual object, designed and implemented virtual walkthrough system. Implementing theoperation of camera movement, the model data storage, the operation menu and otherfunctions based on the Virtools platform for educational software design, the form of anexecutable file to roam in the exhibition hall, and the triggers of the exhibition hall events. Itis to achieve the desired effect. The paper describes the establishment of three-dimensionalmodel in3dsmax interface design in Photoshop, focuses on the model imported to Virtools,uses behavior module to achieve the interaction of the switching function in the roamingbetween hall scene, trigger functions of the display image and help prompts and otherfunctional modules.And at last, this paper provides a way to solved the problems during the developingprocess in a detailed analysis. Especially making an in-depth research in the model collisionproblem, optimizing the Virtools scripting language on the shortcut parameter.The proposed system is greatly transplantable and re-developable, and it could be widelyused in various non-immersive virtual reality products developed by Virtools.
