With the continuous development of virtual reality technology, virtual experiments has been widely studied and applied, which provides a new way of thinking for changing the innovative experimental teaching. Virtual experiment can not only solve the problems during the experimental teaching schools, but also effectively change the status of experimental teaching in Distance Education. So it has great significance for the virtual laboratory of research and development. The virtools is a powerful software designed for three-dimensional interaction, which has some characteristics, such as practicability, great interactive function, interface visualization, scalability and so on. It is widely used in game development, industrial simulation, skills training, virtual laboratory development. Therefore, this article tries to study how to use virtools to build three-dimensional virtual experiment, hoping to change the outstanding achievements of virtual reality technology into the virtual reality experimental teaching system, and be well used in their good experimental teaching.This article contains six parts. The first part describes the purpose of this study, significance and research methods, the status of the virtual home and abroad about experimental study, and a brief analysis on the problems; The second part of this article has made a simple analysis on the characteristics of virtual reality technology, the meaning of the virtual experiment, characteristics and the development trends of depth, focused on the virtual experiments in school education and distance learning and had a specific application; finally, it analyses deeply the virtual experiment shortcomings and weaknesses, and builds the theoretical basis of the virtual experiment. The third part compares the related technologies of the virtual experiment, elaborates the reason why the virtools is chosen as the major development tools, and lastly makes a detailed description of virtools and depth analysis on the development process.The fourth part takes the television program photograph hypothesized experiment for example, analyses and designs the overall structure of the virtual experiment framework, interactive function, interactive interface and the technical line and program implementation. According to kinds of the functions designed, it carries on the concrete development to the television program photograph hypothesized experiment, and deeply analyses the key technologies and methods which realize to the three-dimensional model construction and the experiment interactive function. Finally, it has developed a three-dimensional virtual experimental system with a certain use value. The last part summarizes the whole research, points out some problems and shortcomings and proposes the future research directions. By the research, this article makes a depth analysis for the virtual experiment on the theory and its applications in education, proposes some solutions how to design and develop the virtual experiment by using the virtools, hoping to provide some ideas and references for the future of study and research.
