In recent years, with the rapid development of economy and the rise of logistics industry, forklift trucks play a very important role in the logistics system. Especially, the pallet transport industry needs a large number of forklift drivers. But, the current domestic forklift truck drivers are in shortage because it is very difficult for the few forklift training institutions to train enough professional drivers with the traditional training methods. And, our country has not yet produced a kind of forklift training simulator. In the light of these factors as well as money, designing a forklift truck simulation training system on computer has great social and economic significance.This thesis demonstrates the research into personal computer based on VIRTOOLS forklift simulation training system. First of all, it describes the background and the related research status from home and abroad. And it refers to the overall designing principle of system and puts forward the key technology that needs solving badly. Then, it sorts out the data in forklift simulation training system, including forklift structure, training content, training venue size and so on. With the exploration of modeling and optimization of the system, it enhances the visual control of real time process and reduces the burden of system hardware processing and the consumption of the system resource. In addition, this paper introduces the PhysicCar (physical car) module, simulates the real physical sports world. It also displays the research on human-computer interaction technology in unloading goods with forklift. What’s more, it discussed the forklift and collision detection. It gives the instructions to help to operate the system. The training plans can be perfected through the guidance based on the judgment of the operation error and the data the results feedback. Finally, the paper researches into simulating observation windows, vehicle rearview mirrors, driver’s turning viewpoints and functions of light, shadow and acoustics. And it tries to connect system control interface with common game control device in order to create a better immersive driving atmosphere.
