With the development of technology and society, the product function and structures are getting more and more perfect and complicated. The development of large complex product depends on participation of more personnels and the organization departments which could exchange information in every stage of product process.Therefore, the key of developing large complex product foucus on the establishment of integrated product information model.The existing product modeling methods are summarized in this paper,then a concept and establishment of EXPRESS information model is put forward after EXPRESS language which is supplied by STEP standard is studied.Meanwhile, a product modeling framework based on STEP standard is established according to the contents and design method of STEP application protocols. Take crusher for example,a oriented-crusher product life cycle information model which lay theoretical foundation for developing protocols about the field of cursher industry is established by analyzing information demands and defining function of units.Finally, the imeplementation method in other systems is studied, and give the specific application by applying ST-Developer Tools which is developed by STEP Tools company of America,four aspects is divided to specific expatiate these application in this paper as follows:1. Geometry module. The view of three-dimensional part is transformed into STEP neutral file based on the internal processor of existing three-dimensional modeling software, and the corresponding relationship between geometric structure and neutral file is established by applying the relevant function of ST-Viewer.2. Non-geometry module. The method of generating non-geometry information in STEP ne- tural files is studied through the application of EXPRESS compiler.3. Data integration module.The specific process about integrating geometry information and non-geometry information in STEP neutral files is explained.4. Identification module. The display of entity instances of part information in dialog based on interactive interface which is provided by ST-Viewer is realized.According to these four modules,integration of product information in STEP neutral file is achieved which lay solid foundation for the development of product modeling and subsequent CAPP interface based on ST-Developer.
