Caid Information Model Based On Step And Applications,

Computers'support for product early-phase design and integration of product information are two issues which are still not solved well up to now. Computer-aided-industrial-design(CAID) is a new project of computer aided field, and it plays an important role in the early phase of product design and needs integration with other CAX systems. So it just touches these two issues. Through analyzing and researching, building a fit product information model is good for the resolving of the two issues. From the point of integration with other CAX systems, this paper builds the CAID information model, using the most promising ISO product data exchange standard-STEP. This paper has studied STEP standard and theory of product information modeling, analyzed the CAID system truss and information model, and designed a product using this idea. At last, an example was given to demonstrate its feasibility.
