In this paper, the design objective and design scheme of the video monitoring system is put forward, according to the requirements of the household video monitoring system and the studies of the existing video surveillance system's strengths and weaknesses.First, with the S3C2440A microprocessor as the core, the scheme of the Video monitoring system is constructed based on the research of the household video monitoring system's demand and function, embedded design platform, Internet network, CMOS camera. Monitor terminal circuit of the video monitoring system is also designed. The monitoring terminal circuit include: processor, camera interface circuit, network interface circuit, yuntai control circuit and other peripheral circuit.The existing video compression algorithm is studied and the best compression effect for network transmission mpeg-4 compression algorithm is choosed, aiming at the property of compression and transmission.Optimized the mpeg-4 compression algorithm. Experiment and practical application showed that the optimized contrast mpeg-4 algorithm of the original algorithm has compressed time narrow nearly half, compression quality basic unchanged advantages, appropriate and satisfy the embedded video wanted to establish the performance requirements of monitoring and control system. Meanwhile, the article also video monitoring of moving target tracking algorithm were studied comparatively, optimization.The performance characteristics and the application principles norms of the the Wince operation system is studied. The operating system and the hardware driver of the video monitoring system is researched and transplantated. The video collection procedures (video/image collection, preservation), server program, the client applications are also studied and writed. In this article, the video image compression and target tracking algorithm's principles of the video monitor and control system are also studied, choosed the compression and tracking algorithm, and they were studied respectively the appropriate design optimization.The test system of video monitoring system is set up. The serial communication, network communication, video collection and compression algorithm is tested. the test results show that this article should be established in S3C2440A microprocessor as the core, OV9560 camera video image collection application, information transmission using internet transmission video monitoring system based on embedded in a circuit design, writing software can run. Overall system is feasible.This design of the video monitoring system has a cost-effective, small volume, complete functions, operating friendly interface, the image quality is stable advantages. Have certain engineering application value, and still has certain popularize value.
