With the rapid development of Chinese security industry, the market made more and more new demands for video monitoring systems and new technologies such as embedded technology and multimedia technology in recent years has undergone tremendous changes, developing a new generation of video surveillance technical feasibility is on the agenda. A lot of advantages of embedded Linux operating system make itself the best choice for embedded operating systems, and the development of H.264 video encoding technology make high degree of compression become possible with the cost of increased coding complexity. In regard to hardware, with more and more high performance processor chip appearing in recent years, embedded devices which upload operating systems compressing video becomes easy. Combining embedded technology and a new generation of H.264 video compression technology will become a trend of video surveillance technology.We complete video monitoring solution which used TQ2440 development board with samsung S3C2440 processor on, loaded embedded Linux operating system as the software platform, used T264 as video encoding library. The main work is as below(1) According to TQ2440 development board hardware resources, we customize appropriate embedded Linux development platform;(2) We programmed image acquisition module based on the V4L2 standards; We code a video compression module based on T264 Code library; We programmed video transmission protocol base UDP protocol;(3)We study H.264 video encoding technology, and optimize the code library based on the fact that there is a monotonic relationship between the motion vector cost and macroblock division direction,the correlation of motion vector of the macroblock and the sub macroblock. in UMHexagonS algorithm.The optimized results of H.264 code library showed that we reduce the complexity of coding while the image quality didn't decrease significantly. The effect of video monitoring showed that static image is clarity and stability, and there is a reference value for security monitoring systems on the market.
