A Research On Sports Report And The National Complex

At present, the process of globalization is complicated and rapid. As a war in the age of peace, sports competition unfolds the national character adequately. With hosting the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, the sports news report of China entered a new era. There are both opportunities and challenges. In this situation, lots of factors affect the sports news report seriously. The national complex plays an important role. How should we understand and guide it in order to help people to face international sports events with a healthful, positive and harmonious mentality? It deserves every Chinese to think about seriously.Firstly, the author defines the national complex that the national complex is an emotion which includes happiness, pride, contradictions and conflict for the people love their nation deeply. It is a mental state dominated by passion. It contains not only a rational understanding of the nation, but also a great expression of irrational emotion. Based on that, the author reviewed the performances of "Titan Sports" in Beijing Olympic games which influenced by national complex. These performances contains "China complex" and "gold complex". "China complex" shows that China became strong and Chinese nation has risen up. "Gold complex" means that the Chinese nation desires to win. These performances also promote nationalism, heroism and collectivism.Then, the author analyzed and revealed that why the reports of "Titan Sports" about Beijing Olympic games included national complex. Through the knowledge of the theory of the nation complex, the author pointed out that the main reason was the trauma in the history of our nation. The comprehensive national strength is increasing very fast, but the country suffered a lot of frustrations in the international politics. This contradiction is the second reason. The last reason is the urgent desire of people which is a solid foundation.In ChapterⅢ, the study focuses on the influences of national complex in sports news reports and the "double-edged sword" effect on sports. Rational national complex plays a positive role. It ignited a passion of people for sports and promoted the development of both sports cause and ethnic sports. It is also good for the building of national sports brands. At the same time, the narrow national complex has an opposite side. It causes the sports news reports unilateral, not objective and unfair. It is not conducive to build a health sports psychology. It also can be used by narrow nationalists.Finally, the author pointed out that the special nature of sports coverage that it could not determine the nation with too many national complexs. Media must grasp the "double-edged sword" effect of national complex, properly deal with national complex, promote the rational side and avoid the narrow side, put right state of mind and abandon "weak nation psychology", establish "great power consciousness", and report sporting events home and abroad with global vision.In this paper, the author investigated a problem that how the national complex matches up well with the medias and sports cause. By this study, the author wishes that the Chinese sports news report will be better and better, and also wishes that our sports cause will go further on the path of modernization.
