| Hushi, as a well-know scholar and thinker in the contemporary Chinese history, most of his expressions of political, thought and culture were published on newspaper or periodical; he also founded or involved in many influential publications. Hushi's Liberalism of Journalistic Thought, which is an integrated ideology, was formed during his activities on newspaper and periodical. This paper tries to use Hushi's newspaper & periodical activities as object of study, summarizes he's journalistic related expressions, articles and letters, analyzes his motivations under special time background and historical condition, quests the logical acknowledge of his Liberalism of Journalistic ideology and seeks the significant meanings for contemporary journalism.This paper mainly consists of two parts: introduction and body; Introduction illustrates the motivations of the research, reviews reasons for choosing this topic, introduces research methods and topic; body contains an comprehensive investigation of Hushi's Liberalism of Journalistic Thought, which is based on the existing achievements, performs systematical review on his newspaper activities and uses several methods such as documentary analysis, comparative study and historical analysis.The first section organizes the formation of Hushi's Liberalism of Journalistic Thought, including the theoretical origin and time background, go through all of his newspaper activities; the second section illustrates the main content of his Liberalism of Journalistic Thought, contains his thoughts of free speech, media independency,"literati state political views"and newspaper editor in practical; The third section summed up features of Hushi's Liberalism of Journalistic Thought, inducts his patriotic thinking and liberalism from his newspaper activities; finally, evaluates Hushi's Liberalism of Journalistic Thought historically, although there are some limitation, his thought has a great meanings for the development of contemporary journalism. |
