On the basis of a detailed analysis of the system requirements, the thesis gives out the design of system architecture , some functions and database, and describes implementation of some functions.The users of research management system include teachers, faculty research administrators, and system administrators. Its function is mainly divided into eight modules, which are users management, journal management, scientific research project management, achievements management, rights management of system roles, database management, report andd statistics, and announcements. The thesis discussed the background, status, significance of the research firstly, especially focused on the business needs of the research management. Through requirements analysis, the thesis gave out the system's overall demand, functional structure diagram, business process diagram, etc, then analyzed and designed each sub-module in detail, described how the system uses ASP.NET + ADO.NE technology to achieve project development, and presented the effect of main functions realization.The thesis also described some of the major technical difficulties used in the development process in detail.Finally a summary of the work is carried out.This system employs the popular B/S software architecture system which combines advanced computer network and component technology,uses windows xp as the network operating system, Microsoft's VisualStudio as the development platform,.Net as the development language, SqlServer as the background database. The system has been carried out successful in Nanchang Teachers College. The results showed that the system is reliable and stable, it is easy to use with a friendly interface, which improves the efficiency of the research management and the accuracy of the information.
