Research For Public Opinion Construction Way Of The Ta Kung Pao (from 1925-1932)

Ta Kung Pao is a reputable newspaper that is worth being studied as it has witnessed, recorded and participated in Chinese modern history and the history of the world journalism. The year 1925 to 1932 was a time when Ta Kung Pao was transforming from the Zhilong era to the Xinji Company's era. China was experiencing a special time then because people were free to express their different ideas and thoughts, and contradictions among Chinese people themselves went side by side with conflicts with the outside world. Ta Kung Pao, as one of the main media back then, played a particular and typical role in constructing public opinions.Editorials are the manifestation of the soul of political positions in newspaper. Starting from the editorials in Ta Kung Pao during the Xinji period(1925-1932), this thesis investigates the several transitional periods of the social historical changes in the 1920's of China, dissects the historical environment and the public opinion environment at that time, and explores the correspondent ways of constructing the public opinion used by Ta Kung Pao. During the Warlord Era, also the time when Xinji Ta Kung Pao just began renewing its editions, the magnetic-field way of constructing the public opinion, plus the snow-mode reinforcement mechanism as well as the impartial supervision attitude, laid the foundation for Ta Kung Pao's news report and opinion on public affairs. When the political situation contradicted the newspaper structure, such way of constructing the public opinion as the one in which confliction and fusion coexisted emerged as the time required. And after the September 18 Incident, insisting on the anti-Japanese national salvation, Ta Kung Pao created its public opinions like popcorn, which, after a continuous heating, exploded and formed a huge opinion wave.Just as the saying "Histories make men wise" goes, after experiencing the changing of times, today in the diversified media age, rereading Ta Kung Pao through the fog of history can give certain instructions and reference to such issues in nowadays as the newspaper and media system, the consensus building of emergencies and social transformation. In order to creat a harmonious public opinion environment, the government, the media as well as the public need inevitably interact with each other and maximize the resultant force of the public opinion.
