The video technology is used widely in the fields of industrial and agricultural production, military defence, consumer electronics, medical and sanitation, public security and so on. And these works can't be completed without a set of high-speed video acquisition system. Meanwhile video acquisition is the base of video processing, compressing, and transmitting, so the research on video acquisition system is very important and valuable.In this thesis, with combination of the embedded technology and image technology, embedded network video acquisition systems have been studied, a video acquisition system based on OMAP3530 is designed and realized. The system makes use of OMAP3530 as hardware platform, TI's OMAP3530 which hass a dual-core architecture offers quality of both high-performace and low-power. The dual-core architecture provides benefits of both DSP and ARM technologies. For software platform, the OS is embedded Linux which gradually becomes the mainstream operating system in embedded development. Embedded Linux can be used with multiple platform, and is free software source code.In this thesis, the video acquisition system's status and development trends are introduced at fist. Then the OMAP3530 dual-core processor's hardware features and development board's structure are introduced. After that, how to build the software development platform based on OMAP3530, including Cross-compilation environment establishment, the u-boot's transplantation, kernel's transplantation, file system's production, are described. Then, the design of application software systems, including the overall structure of application software, loading video acquisition module and camera module driver, calling V4L2 API to realize the video acquisition design. Finally collecting the images, the images are clear and the system is stable, achieving the desired effect.
