A Research On Pierre Bourdieu's Communication Thought

Pierre Bourdieu was a famous philosopher, socialist and cultural theory critic whose field theory had an outstanding influence in sociology. Although in his vast theoretical system communication was not his main topic, as a socialist he made his research in communication very creative.Based on Pierre Bourdieu's academic track and found the association which connected between his communication throught and sociological theory system,mainly researched on Bourdieu's critical theory about TV, this paper summarized the media view of Bourdieu from his news field theory and TV critical theory. In addition, the author compared from vertical,horizontal to multidimensional perspective to make an objective evaluation on his communication thought. The author also contacted China's media industry, to put forward the thinking with theoretical and realistic significance.This thesis is divided into five sections. The first section looks back at Bourdieu's scholastic history drawing on research about him conducted by other scholars; this section also introduces the research frame for this thesis.The second section focuses on Bourdieu's journalistic field theory, in which I found the theoretical premise for this topic while studying his core concepts in social practice theory. The third section analyses Bourdieu's Journalism Field theory from the perspective of relationship research, while the the fourth part discusses his negative views of the media via studying the symbolism of violent television programming, TV researchers mediated life and imagine culture priority brought by TV.The last section evaluates Bourdieu's communication thought, points out the limits and usability of his communication thought, while looking at our media industry using his media critical approaches, to find the practical significance in modern world.Pierre Bourdieu's communication thought cannot be separated from the development situation of French television industry. His criticism was deep and with extremely construction significance; Many inspiration can be obtained from his communication thought. Although Pierre Bourdieu's communication thought have some shortcomings, but his view on the social scholar in the mass media, not only opened up a new paradigm of media criticism, its news field theory for the generations' research provides a wide train of thought.
