With the growing popularity of mobile communications, and the overall arrival of the 3G era of China's telecommunications industry,3G network construction is right now in full swing. Within the cities, the telephone traffic density within the building is rising. Most data services occur in the interior, which means network coverage, capacity, quality and efficiency have become the key factors for the operators to obtain competitive advantages. However,3G indoor coverage is still a weak link in network coverage. Outdoor macrocell station alone can not meet the coverage and capacity requirements of communication quality. The thesis discusses the 3G indoor coverage theory and practice for large and important buildings, which will have certain reference values in actual work.In paper writing process, the authors collected a large amount of literatures about 3G indoor coverage technology, application, planning and designing. Through the elaboration of 3G market operation conditions at present stage, the article puts forward the necessity and urgency of 3G indoor coverage, as well,analyzes the whole situation of 3G indoor coverage and the existing problems of Henan Unicom in currently stage. The paper starts with the composition of indoor coverage system, mainly analyses and expounds the index requirements, transmission loss analysis, frequency distribution and numbers plan requirements, the engineering construction principle and so on contents of indoor coverage system design technology from the engineering point of view. While discussing on the general theory of GSM&WCDMA indoor coverage, the thesis analyses the feasibility of GSM and WCDMA sharing indoor coverage system. On the basis of which, choosing XX building as example, the appropriate indoor coverage networking is selected according to the case characteristics,combined with the principles of the relevant system-building, technical requirements and design specifications. The author involved in the design construction projects in practice, and participated in the testing and optimization work of the engineering systems.
