Workshop resource management is one of the most important parts in productive process of manufacturing enterprise, and it affects manufacturing directly. The production process of Discrete Manufacturing Enterprise has strong uncertainty because of the external environment, and this leads resources management becomes difficult. The traditional management method is usually done statically with a single resource management task, and for the dynamic scheduling of resources and exchange of information between resources is not paid enough attention, so the sensitivity is reducing. Workshop resource management system based on MES can not only manage the shop's processing information timely and comprehensive, but solve the problem of collaboration between resources. With real-time system of MES, discrete manufacturing enterprises can control the productive process through the specific situation of resources, and enhance its decision-making speed and market competitiveness.Based on discrete manufacturing enterprise and the framework of MES, we analyzed the concept of resource management systems and functions. Paper first described the research background and significance, introduced the domestic and international status.Secondly, with the theory of multi-Agent System and the analysis of the MES framework, we divided the functional model into five modules, through the perspective of resource management processes and the resource relativity, and analyzed the specific content of these five modules. Base on these works, we made clear the contact between external and internal resource management system through establishing the structure of resource management.According to the result of function analysis, we designed the functions of five modules in detail, and the database structure of resource management system, introduced the characteristic of AgentBuilder and the realization process of communication between Agents.Finally, based on the analysis and functional design, we introduced the required environmental and technical structure of the system, and the process of establishment of Agent on AgentBuilder. Through timing diagram and system interface described the current system function.
