Design And Implementation Of SOA-Based Multimedia Teaching Platform For Secondary And Elementary Schools

With the development of information in basic education in China, many secondary and elementary schools (SES) have built a foundation environment of information technology. However, there exist some problems in construction and application of teaching software, such as, lack of unified standards for management education resources; Scattered, disorganized and duplicated construction of resource library; Independent education system; small scale and decentralized application and so on. Therefore, it is obviously important to establish a regional basic teaching platform in order to integrate the education resources, to unify the teaching platform and to manage the education information uniformly.For the above, a SOA-based multimedia teaching system (MTS) for secondary and elementary schools (MTS-SES) has been designed and implemented. This system is based on the practical project, class-to-class in Zhengzhou city. According to the wide distribution and multiple application characteristics of MTS-SES, SOA architecture is adopted so that centralized management, distributed deployment can be achieved with efficient applicability, flexible expansibility and easy maintainability.The main contents of this thesis are as follow.First, the current situation of basic education information in China has been analyzed and the existing problems in the information development of secondary and elementary schools has been described. The necessity of constructing the regional basic teaching platform has been emphasized.Later, SOA-based service-oriented education information platform has been proposed. The concepts, characteristics and model structures of SOA have been introduced and the key technologies of implementation of SOA have been illustrated.Next, actual requirements of MTS-SES have been investigated and analyzed; as a result, the system and sub-system functions have been extracted.Following, the MTS-SES has been developed and implemented. Firstly, according to the results of requirement analysis, system design principles have been presented; then the system architecture and physical deployment plan have been designed. Among them, the overall interfaces designs, key business processed and key interfaces have been described in details.Finally, the practical application of MTS-SES has been introduced and the contribution of this study has been summarized. At the same time, the future research of MTS-SES has been suggested.
