As one of the major natural disasters, lightning has always been a hazard to human life and property, and with the electronic technology applications in various industries, such damage becomes more serious. Therefore, real-time monitoring and early warning of lightning is particularly important.This paper first introduced the basic theory of lightning warning, lightning location and early warning of the monitoring network status, and analyzed existing research methods and research basis, including lightning research, monitor performance of positioning network and lightning monitoring and warning.Then, Hunan lightning warning platform version 1.0 was introduced, the practical business applications of the platform in the shortcomings and areas for improvement was illustrated too. Through the research of early warning algorithms, we provided important technical support for the improvement of the system. The updates and upgrades of the system 2.0 version is mainly reflected in the following areas:The application of spatial data on the reverse database searching statistical methods improved the processing power and massive data analysis speed; applied extrapolation in lightning warning technology, combined with physical calculated, achieved a lightning storm system characterized by qualitative changes in the strength; realized the automation of routine business and lightning active service for lightning monitoring, early warning and protection and management.Finally, this paper summarized the main contents and results, pointed out the inadequacies of the paper, presented prospects for the lightning warning system and early warning methods.
