EPON technology for its own inherent advantages in the access network plays an important role. This paper studies EPON technology and the main work are as follows:1. The EPON technical is been in-depth understanding from principle, key technology and access way of classifying. Through the key technical analysis further clarify EPON technology is applied to the value of practical engineering.3. The project needs is been analyzed. And design the construction project, optic cable programmer and supporting the development scheme of EPON-based network access solutions based on the status quo.4. The application in real projects is been summarized. After analysis the problems in practice, the solutions is proposed.
