Then introduces based on Ethernet technology of passive optical network (EPON) and EPON structure of network, this paper summarizes the current main PON FTTx technology, the standard present situation, and briefly describes EPON realization principle, key technology and technological advantages.This paper is focused on the user access network EPON technology in application model analysis. First introduces three EPON technology application modes of the user access network, analyzes the present situation and the needs of different users, points out that the existing users access network construction and maintenance existence, high cost and management is not convenient, provide business monotonous species, low bandwidth. Then based on the enterprise users and public EPON user access network application model analysis, and with traditional access network in the network construction cost, operation cost, network quality and and function of the realization of the aspects such as demonstrated by comparing the EPON technology used in enterprise users and mass client access network on has obvious advantages.
