After years of development, CATV has become China's one of the very important basic facilities in information industry, enjoying tremendous resources of band width and broad prospect of utilization; However, it has become an urgent and key issue on how to reconstruct traditional one way CATV network to comprehensive dual way and interactive business network.As EPON technology came into being and getting more and more mature, it has been more and more deployed in the basic telecom networks in developing countries; But, how to utilize EPON technology onto the reconstruction of CATV network has become a challenging subject.After the introduction of a few traditional dual way reconstruction technology which had been deployed in CATV, this article will focus on how to deploy EPON, a passive optical networking technology which based on Ethernet, to the reconstruction of HFC on CATV networks, thus realize the dual way reconstuction of HFC of CATV with possible low cost; And provides solutions on the existing problems, hopefully this article could pave a new way which is the solution of integrated fiber access business based on EPON for the dual way constmction on CATV networks in current and future China.
