Populism In Internet Communication

Network populism is a special and more influential manifestation of populism in the Internet. It has some characteristics such as advocating civilians, against elites, widespread critical and irrational, besides, it can also affect net citizens'thought and speech. Network populism raises a lot of opinion storms by various forms in"Carrefour"event,"Hangzhou racing case","Yujiao Deng"event and"Gang Li"event, and it even influences their development and ending. In recent years, the network populism as a special network phenomenon has caused many scholars' attention, and reveal hot trend gradually, but the theoretical research of this aspect is still relatively weak.This article mainly adopts comprehensive qualitative analysis and case analysis to analyse network populism comprehensively. It means to give priority to qualitative analysis, and combs related concepts about network populism from the macroscopic level, meanwhile, this article chooses valuable one to analyse from network transmission cases. According to some typical characteristics, the specific performance of network populism, we must investigate and analyze comprehensively and deeply, and depending on the qualitative analysis needs to analyze relevant contents pointedly.The basic framework of whole article is as follows: The first part expounds the concepts and characteristics of populism and network populism, which is the theoretical basis of the whole article. The second part discusses four main forms of network populism. Some network populists own patriotism, some play as social supervisors, some are against monopolic and authoritative"fortress"culture, the others are just network kuso. The third part, from the investigation of public dissemination platform, it expounds the positive and negative influence of net citizens'thought and speech from network populism, and analyzes its'directly cause and root cause. Then, it discusses some main measures to response rationally network populism. And finally the last part is the conclusion. Nowadays, the appearance and development situation of network populism are deeply affecting Chinese net citizens, for this, we must think dialectically, and take effective control or guide to maximize the positive role of network populism, reduce its negative effects, prompting network opinion towards a healthy and orderly direction development, in order to build a harmonious pure network environment.
