In this paper, it uses automobile wheel hub wheel-type code of automatic identification system as application background, for the inadequacies of the original system. USB-CAN adapter was designed to replace PCI-485 card. In the USB-CAN adapter design, It puts forward a new idea, it makes the USB into a virtual serial port by the USB-CDC protocol, and analogs RS-232 to communicate with the host computer without having to develop the system for user-specific drivers for USB Device Interface to achieve free driver design and reduce the development effort; the same time using two CAN interfaces to achieve redundant design, it both fully uses of the LPC2368 microprocessor chip peripheral resources, and improves system reliability, increases production efficiency.This paper introduces hardware design and software design of the USB-CAN adapter, it achieves accurate and reliable data transmission and protocol conversion functions, and was proved that this design program on the interface usability and reliability in practical application.
