With the rapid development of 3G communications, people are no longer satisfied withmobile phones and other wireless devices only for the purpose of voice communication. Thereare great desire for real-time wireless multimedia services, and specifically, there are hugedemand for the convenience brought by the wireless streaming video business.The goal of the project is: to solve the problem of urban traffic congestion. We utilize theplatform of the Internet accessed by 3G technology to achieve the goal, We provide theapplication installed in 3G mobile terminal or PC, with the capability of viewing real-time trafficinformation, so that users are able to avoid congested roads, and arrive at destination soonerthrough system suggested routes. In this manner, we are able to partially solve the problem.We studied the multimedia information processing problems based on the GStreamerarchitecture, studied the map technologies based on mobile terminal--Google Maps, and used themobile terminal to achieve the basic functions of electronic map. Finally, we realize thefunctions in the platform.The paper designs and implements the multimedia information inquiry system based onmobile terminal. In the multimedia , we make sending,receiving and displaying the video,imageinformation come true. In Google Maps, we can query on the address and the route andimplement the intelligent navigation,calling the data processed from the urban road videoinformation by other project team and processing through effective algorithm.After experimentaltests, it proves that the design achieve the desired effect.
