Power Line Communication technology has been widely used in automated meter reading system of the power industry, in automatic meter reading system, power line communication technology can give full play to the existing power line resources, without additional wiring. The so-called carrier meter reading module was installed in the user side, the use of low-voltage power line to the user information sent by the carrier to the concentrator, enabling the user sets the region's concentration of energy meter collecting information.Since power line carrier is using power line as transmission medium, the distance of power line and the user's electricity load on the power line will affect power line communication results, so reading all meter's data in one area without relay is not possible. The solution is installing each meter with relay forwarding carrier module.So,the meter which can not be directly readed by concentrator can be readed by the meter nearby or which has a good signal quality. Power line carrier communication channel, interference with serious and unstable.So,it is very important to know how to allocate relay node and maintain these node dynamically via relay forwarding technology while reference the communication status and distance.Based on the carrier relay forwarding technology, we design one router for the set of reading system.The router's main role is to determine each node's optimal achieving path .The hardware configuration of the router equipped with one MPC850 as the main processor ,which speeds up to 50MHZ, the internal integration of the PowerPC core and a serial communication design for the communications processor module (CPM). With 32M of SDRAM memory and 8M of NorFlash. Software linux embedded system platforms using operating systems, with SQlite as an embedded database to store user's data and system's configuration information . Embedded boa web server was used to implement management and control function. The design of the software based on dynamic link library, using the modular design can greatly shorten the development cycle, while the system has excellent scalability, maintainability, remote upgrade capabilities. The design of the routing algorithm, according to the characteristics of power line carrier meter relay, to design a multi-tree traversal optimization of the automatic relay algorithm can theoretically Collecting hundred percent of the data. In practice, meter data can be automatically combined with semi-automatic relay to ensure the stability and flexibility of the reading system.
