Design And Implementation Of FCoE Zone Data Distribution Module

With the rapid development of internet, the network information, the traditional direct-attached storage model clearly can not meet the enterprise requirements for data efficiently store, access and management.FC (Fibre Channel) protocol developed by the American National Standards Institute, with the features of high speed, high reliability, low latency and high throughput, integrated the channel and network technology in one, supported the transport of SCSI, IPI, HIPPI, IP protocol and so on. FC storage network protocol is able to provide data transmission with high-speed, high reliability and stable and secure, and currently is used widely in storage area network (SAN). However, because of the high cost and the poor expansion of FC network equipment, FCoE switches have come into being.FCoE switches can converted FC packet into IP packet, so the FC packet can be transmitted over IP networks, at the same time, it also can converted IP packet into FC packet, so after the convention the IP packet can be transmitted in the FC storage network. That is to say, carrying FC protocol on the base of the Ethernet network which is used widely, so customers only need an Ethernet network card which supported FCoE protocol can also access IP network and FC network at the same time, and reduce costs.VSAN module is one of the sub-modules in the FCoE systems, through the VSAN, a physical SAN network can be divided into multiple isolated logical SAN networks, each VSAN is isolated from each other, and enhanced network security. Zone Technology The principle of Zone technology is further divided N-port members which is within the VSAN into the Regional (Zone), so that the members in the different Zone isolated from each other, to achieve the purpose of access control and better protection of the data.This project uses the V model, through the requirements, outline design, detailed design, coding, testing and other stages, completed the development of Zone module. This paper describes the role of Zone in the FCoE systems, analyzes the Zone data distributed module, including configuration before the database synchronization, synchronization packets interactive processes and so on, carried out a detailed needs analysis and completed demand Design, implementation and testing.
