Along with the rapid development of Mobile E-commerce, mobile payment via cell phone has been popularized and applied in ever-increasing areas due to its convenience, instantaneity and security, resulting in a variety of innovative technological solutions based on the cell phone. In recent years, the application of RFID technology has been extended from manufacturing, logistics, transportation to the financial sector by implanting RFIC and e-wallet into SIM card so as to realize mobile payment.With a focus on the core technology of 2.4G RF-SIM card, the author has firstly introduced the three stages of the development in mobile payment and presented the three major issues restraining the rapid expansion of mobile payment in China. From a review of mainstream mobile payment technologies, the technology of RF-SIM has been expanded on in terms of standard, operational mode as well as hardware and software configuration. By analyzing the features of RF-SIM card in line with the most important security concern of the subscriber, the author proposed a 2.4G solution. A case study has been conducted on Shanghai Expo Mobile Phone Ticket system so as to provide valuable reference for the expansion of 2.4G RFID technology in the mobile payment sector in China.
