With multi-service network integration, Driven by high-bandwidth and low-cost requirements, the evolution from the mobile communication network to the all-network has become the consensus. The transformation from Mobile Communication Expert to Mobile Information Expert reflects the objective of CMCC, and indicates that mobile network based on IP has become the only way to the overall strategy transformation.Metropolitan area networks are highly competitive and open network environment, it is directly driven by user needs and its basic characteristics are business diversification and uncertainty of business flow. However, the situation is SDH/MSTP, ethernet switches, routers and other networks were carrying the different businesses, maintaining their own situation, and it is difficult to meet development needs of the unified multi-service bearer and lower operating costs. From a technical perspective, IP networks will eventually become the cornerstone of network convergence and the unified bearer platform of various business network. However, the traditional IP technology emphasizes flexibility and openness, lacks centralized control and management. It uses best-effort packet forwarding in a no difference way, lacking security measures in delay, jitter, packet loss rate and other IP packet performance indicators. Obviously, the traditional IP technology can't meet the needs of loading telecommunications business and operating, but as a unified core bearer network, IP network needs to carry mobile and fixed voice services, video and streaming media services, data services, which are challenges for IP network development and innovation. Therefore, the introduction of PTN technology provides a platform for carrying MAN multi-service.
