With the development of computer and spatial information technology, the concept of "Digital Coal Mine" and the study of relative theories and technologies have attracted wide attention in the field of coal mine. Compared with the general GIS, the storage and management of current coal mine GIS spatial data is relatively backward because the spatial data are still stored in files format. Therefore, the development of targeted spatial data engine is of extremely practical significance. How to fulfill the highly effective storage and the scientific management of digitized coalmine spatial data becomes a hot topic in this domain.In this paper, the author considers using the method of multi-sources spatial data engine to establish the technical route and prosecute the relative design and implementation. Compared with the current file storage, the spatial data engine has not only fulfilled the unified storage and management of the coalmine spatial data and attribute data, but also addressed such issues as integral storage of multi- data sources, concurrent access and operation of multi-users and data sharing among multi-sectors.This article is focused on the study of coalmine spatial data engine (CMSDE), making an attempt to design and realize it, mainly including the following aspects:Firstly, the paper has elaborated the concept along with the working principle of the spatial data engine, and designed CMSDE based on the coalmine geographic information system's characteristics.Secondly, having analyzed several commonly used spatial data model, this paper constructs the coalmine spatial data model in the light of the characteristics of the coalmine spatial data, and designs the coalmine spatial data memory model based on the database, including kinds of table structure definitions. In addition, based on the analysis of GSQL, this paper has made a preliminary design to the CMSDE space inquiry and provided two kinds of classical spatial indices to improve inquiry efficiency. Finally, this paper has proposed a plan to solve the multi users'data management.Thirdly, this paper has realized the unified connection of the accessibility to underlying heterogeneous data sources, on the basis of analyzing the differences among several large-scale databases in the aspects of architecture, data type, as well as internal mechanism.Lastly, according to the present discussion and design, this paper has realized CMSDE initially, and tested the feasibility of design and the validity of its function based on the relative experiments of LongruanGIS4.0 testing platform.
