Design And Realization Of The AAC ZigBeePRO Development System

ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the main supporting technologies in the internet of things. ZigBee chips or modules are the essential components to construct ZigBee WSN. In the engineering application of ZigBee WSN, to grasp the principles and characteristics of ZigBee chips or modules and the development methods of the engineering application to speed up product development process as soon as possible, ZigBee development kit (including softwares of hardware platform, protocol stack, function library, application routine and related documentations) is an indispensable equipment.Compared with the products of other corporations such as TI, Jennic and Freescale, AAC ZigBee modules produced by AAC Acoustic Technologies Holdings Inc (AAC) boast certain advantages in data transmission rate, receiving sensitivity, etc. They also boast advantages in cost performance and module volume, etc. AAC ZigBee modules boast a large share of market in South Korea and Japan. In China, however, because of the lack of corresponding development tools and application routines, products with excellent performance have not been marketed. Under such circumstances, aiming at promoting the industrialized application and product sales of ZigBee AAC modules, this paper has put forward the development program of engineering application of ZigBee AAC modules, and has developed AAC ZigBeePRO kit.This development kit has taken into full consideration of the advancement and reliability of the equipment, as well as the convenience of engineering development and application. It provides a node design scheme of low power consumption and low cost, plentiful application routines and detailed documentations. Hardware includes the principal demoboard of ZigBeePRO (LCD, temperature, humidity and light sensors), the simplified demoboard of ZigBeePRO, ZigBee USB module, and ZigBeePRO WNA. Software includes the development system manuals of AAC_ZigBeePRO, Profile-Simulator, Packet Analyzer, Device-Programmer, ZigBeePRO_V21 examples and demo, as well as other engineering design and development softwares, such as drivers.This paper describes in detail the design ideas and specific implementation schemes of the development kit, which provides plentiful reference materials for the engineers and related personnels of ZigBee WSN. The manufactured development kit AAC ZigBeePRO has already been marketed. Through the testing of AAC Corporation and the practical application in AAC's Singapore Corporation and Xi'an Hongfei Technology Co.LTD, the novelty and reliability of the product are verified.
