3G and the Internet of Things are undoubtedly the most popular words in the information field. And Internet of things has been put forward based on the concept of the Internet.Internet of Things means a network that formed by information sensing devices combined with the Internet, it exchanges information and communicates to realize intelligent identification, location, tracking and monitoring and management. Research and development of electronic device which supporting the 3rd-generation communication technology has become the focus of the communication industry and embedded systems. The key of 3G technology still lies in services, and Internet of Things is very important to 3G applications. The development of the Gateway is very important to build Internet of Things' architecture. As the Internet of things is concerned, Gateway is connected to a sensor network and the Internet, or other smart devices as a bridge.On the chance of the development of 3G technology, background of the Internet of things, a thought and design of Internet of things gateways based on the 3G is brought forward with specific implementation.The thesis has proposed a kind of design that embedded Internet of things gateways based on ARM and Windows CE. On this basis, it has also proposed wireless network technology network solutions based on ZigBee technology,3G technology and GPRS, to achieve broad access gateway function.In the design of software, Visual Studio 2005 is used to design the software which function is to transform protocols between Zigbee and TCP/IP, and realize the inter-connecting between Zigbee network and Internet.Finally, this paper analyses the characteristics of anti-interference of ZigBee and the problem of ZigBee technology co-exist with other 2.4GHZ frequency band technology, and puts forward the coexistence of the solution.
