With the expansion and comprehensive improvement of IP communication services, the structure of the communication system becomes more complicated. The instances exist in communication system are hard to be determined due to the group and concurrent communication services, while so do the services and media included in a single communication instance. Therefore, how to specify and organize communication, as well as coordinate the services and media elements are the key points for communication system application layer's design.This paper discusses the potential demand of IP communication services to unified communication platform.Through depth study of XMPP protocol, UDT protocol, ICE specification and analysis of the InstLink client architecture, we proposed an improved media communication platform solution.The solution combines a varitety of technical advantages, and simplifies client communication platform interface. Furthermore, the QoS can be guaranteed by reliable, best-effort and real time transmission since we use single P2P channel to provide different media communication bussiness to services by introducing P2P channel multiplexing. The problem of NAT offensive and defensive in unified communication is also solved, and the cooperation of services and distribution of channel resource are achieved.Based on the testing of InstLink service network, the program proposed in this paper is able to improve efficiency, reliability and the performance of firewall traversal in instlink client.
