Harmonious society should be accompanied by harmonious education. However, there are some disharmonious"notes"in our current education, and there is a group of "vulnerable groups", i.e. underachievers in each school, especially, in junior middle school schools. Although they have normal senses and intelligence, they have many difficulties on their study due to the influence of families, schools, society and other factors, and their physical and psychological health do not get good development. Ignoring the underachievers'education will seriously affect the implementation of quality education, and deviate from the aim of the new curriculum.In this paper, we investigated the underachievers'status quo and cause by reviewing literature, questionnaires, interviewing, observing in our classes and so on. It is found that underachievers in the rural junior high schools are far more than in the city schools, and there are much more schoolboys than schoolgirls. On the other hand, the underachievers of some new types have arisen with the growing economic development of society. The causes are extraordinarily complex under the new situation. In this paper, we analyzed the formation causes of underachievers in junior middle schools from various points of view. The present study showed that it is multi-factors that attributed to the formation of underachievers in junior middle schools, such as families, schools, society and so on.Finally, we put forward the following relevant suggestions for the junior middle school underachievers'prevention and transformation. Firstly, achieving a balanced development of education, and creating favorable conditions for the underachievers in junior middle schools, especially in weak junior schools; Secondly, improving continually the teaching methods, exploring new ideas of student education, and trying to make school education no longer a main reason for the formation of underachievers in junior middle schools; In addition, developing non-intellectual factors of underachievers in junior middle schools and keeping them healthy and sustainable development; At last, creating synergy by the home-school co-education, and holding up a piece of blue sky for co-transformation of the junior middle school underachievers.
