Middle school students'study habit is the pattenting of their study behavior. To the junior middle school students' study, the nurtured study habit has important meaning.Study habit is not decided by inherent cause. It's gradually formed and developed. In the learning activities, students would have relations with the circumstance. So, nurtured study habit is not just an individual thing. The enviroment in which students are actively involved has a great impact on the study habit. To the junior middle school students, the most two important factors are family and school. In the junior middle school, all the students are facing the same resources and rules, but there are two different study habit types, one is active study habit, the other is passive study habit. The family influence on the junior middle school students'study habit is thus indicated. Family is the basic unit of socioty. And also, it's the junior middle school students'earliest educating place. Family supports student'needs in the study activities. At the same time, the parents are the earliest teachers of their children. Therefore, study habit has close connection with family.In this paper, case study and questionnaire methods are employed to study the family influence on study habit of S Junior Middle school in J City. According to the Structuration Theory proposed by Anthony Giddens, the family influence has two parts. One is rule, the other is resource. In this paper, the rule is referring to parenthood and family's expectation and the resource is referring to parent's educational level and parent's occupation. The primary purpose of ths paper is to discuss how different families with different rules and resources have made a difference in their kids study habits.The analysis shows that family's parenthood and expactation are important to the students'study habit. Different relations urged to forms different study habit types. And family's culture resource is also important. That is, the more educated the parents are, or the more likely the parents are in the education business, the more possible their children will develop a proactive study habit.
