There is a long history of Chinese textbook for primary school in our country. The main content of teaching materials focused on"Four Books"and"Five Classics"of Confucianism during the period from Han dynasty ruled by the emperor Wu to the end of the Qing Dynasty until the new-style school was set up. In modern times, with the development of the society, the acceptance or rejection of the culture classics in Chinese textbooks for primary school has been changed for many times with the fluctuation of political situations. With the background of global multiculturalism, the exploration and deliberation of our cultural origin has already been started.In this study, the culture classics in different versions of Chinese textbooks for primary school which were published by People's Education Press since the establishment of the People's Republic of China, are assorted according to the reform of textbooks for primary school. Three main fundamental types which are poetry, fable, idiom stories and history culture stories were generalized. The amount of culture classics is also counted. The analysis of the proportion in the text gross showed that, since the establishment of our country, the amount of culture classics in different versions of Chinese textbooks for primary school increased firstly and then decreased, increased again and held, and it is rising now . The social factors of this alteration are discussed. The contents of culture classics inherited in six versions of textbooks for primary school are analyzed and the original materials are reappeared. The educational, social and historical meanings are discussed. The enlightenments are as follows: students'basic skills are trained in different literary styles; students'language emotions were edified by a picturesque description; students'visual field of language is enriched by various contents and the students'philosophy is inspired by the profound thought. Students can get the education from the language basic skill, emotion, visual field and thought. The interaction among them has a composite and profound effect on students. It can reveal the role which the culture classic took in our cultural education of our country. The impression if our country also can be deepened by language education. The students can keep touch with the ethnic culture and the national pride is also strengthened. When they grow up, they will be a better generation with constructive abilities. What's more, this is also the important guarantee to be competitive and stand firmly forever among the nations of the world.
