ObjectivesTo determine the prevalence and distribution of mental disorders in residents of Zhengzhou, to study the related factors of mental disorders prevalence, and use the data to develop a prevention and treatment managerial system of mental disorders.MethodsUsing stratified multi-stage cluster randomization identified eight points in12districts of Zhengzhou City, and total29636individuals≥15years of age. The subjects were surveyed between August1,2011and December31,2011indoor. The survey had two stages:First, the surveyor used individual health questionnaire to screen. The people who can not complete the questionnaire for dysmnesia or dysnoesia, should finish the mini-mental state examination (MMSE); Second, definite diagnosis. The individual who had anyone extraordinary answer about mental health in individual health questionnaire should complete the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders Patient Version (SCID).The data was collected by Epidata3.02database analyzed by SPSS17.0descriptive statistics and chi-square test, the Alpha value was0.05. Results1Mental disorders prevalence ratesThe overall point rate of mental disorders was32.83%o, and the overall lifetime prevalence of mental disorders was41.27%o, The point rate of mood disorders is13.26%o, the lifetime prevalence of mood disorders is16.47‰; the point rate of anxiety disorders is8.27‰, the lifetime prevalence of anxiety disorders is10.87‰; the point rate of substance use disorders is3.58‰, the lifetime prevalence of substance use disorders is4.39‰; the point rate of psychotic disorders is3.00‰, the lifetime prevalence of psychotic disorders is3.85‰; the point rate of organic mental disorders is3.14‰, the lifetime prevalence of organic mental disorders is3.64%o. According the point prevalence rate, the most common mental disorders were major depressive disorder (7.15‰), generalized anxiety disorder (5.10‰), dysthymic disorder (3.91‰), and schizophrenia (2,56‰).2Mental disorders prevalence rates of different genderThe overall point prevalence of mental disorders was more prevalent in female than male (χ2=5.12, P<0.05), about the point prevalence the mood disorders and anxiety disorders were higher in female than in male (P<0.05), and the substance use disorders were lower in female than in male(P<0.05), but the psychotic disorders and organic mental disorders was not significant difference in female and male (P>0.05).3Mental disorders prevalence rates of urban-ruralThere was no significant difference in the overall point prevalence of mental disorders between urban and rural (χ2=1.48, P>0.05); But the substance use disorders and organic mental disorders were higher in rural than in urban, the anxiety disorders were lower in rural than in urban (P<0.05).Conclusions1. The mental health problem has become the important public health problem in Zhengzhou City, the overall point rate of mental disorders was32.83%o, and the overall lifetime prevalence of mental disorders was41.27%o, in persons aged15and older in Zhengzhou City. The point rate of mood disorders is13.26‰, the lifetime prevalence of mood disorders is16.47%o; the point rate of anxiety disorders is8.27‰, the lifetime prevalence of anxiety disorders is10.87‰; the point rate of substance use disorders is3.58‰, the lifetime prevalence of substance use disorders is4.39‰; the point rate of psychotic disorders is3.00‰, the lifetime prevalence of psychotic disorders is3.85‰; the point rate of organic mental disorders is3.14%o, the lifetime prevalence of organic mental disorders is3.64%o.2.
