Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of XueDuQing retention enema in treating sepsis and its influence on the level of serum adiponectin (APN). To explore the mechanism for the effect of XueDuQing.Methods:60 cases of sepsis were randomly divided into two groups, control group and treatment group,30 cases of each group. Treatment group were treated with XueDuQing retention enema and routine western therapy. The control group were treated with clean enema and routine western therapy. Observed two groups of patients in the APACHEā…”score, SOFA score, the level of APN on admission(D0),day 3(D3) and day 7(D7) after the treatment, and the efficacy of Chinese medicine. Results:After the treatment of 7 days, symptoms were improved in both groups (P<0.05), and the treatment group improved symptoms more obvious(P<0.01). On admission, patients with sepsis had significantly lower level of adiponectin, and there is no significant difference between the two group(P>0.05). On day 3 and day 7, the level of adiponectin in both groups were higher(P<0.05), but the increasing degree in treatment group was more obvious than that in control group(P<0.05).Chinese medicine treatment group efficacy rate was 76.67%,56.67% in control group, were significantly different (P<0.05)Conclusion:1. XueDuQing retention enema can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of sepsis patients.2. XueDuQing retention enema allows circulating adiponectin of sepsit patients increase more obvious compared with the control group.3. The mechanism of XueDuQing in treating sepsis is related to its immune modulation effect with up-regulation of circulating adiponectin.
