PurposeUsing buxujiedu decotion as a basic therapy and strengthening body resistance and expelling the evil as a main method, combining with chemotherapy to treat NSCLC. Observing the cooperative effects of buxujiedu decotion and chemotherapy, the control of tumor growth, the improvement of symptoms and the relief of side-effects.Method40 cases of patients in hospital (May,2010-Mar,2011) from Jiangsu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Divide them into two groups:experimental group(buxujiedu decotion +chemotherapy) and contrastive group(chemotherapy).20 cases for each group, both be treated for 2 periods. During the process, adjust the therapy according to the change of patients' symptoms. Compare symptoms before and after treatment of each group, and evaluate the curative effects of two groups.Results1. The two different therapies are both effective in restraining tumor growth.2. Comparatively speaking, the experimental group (buxujiedu decotion +chemotherapy) has more satisfactory effects in the aspects of reducing tutor quota, relieving symptoms and improving patients' quality of life.3. Further study and statistics reveal buxujiedu decotion can help to reduce the side-effects brought by chemotherapy. Especially has positive effects in the improvement of WBC, BUN, Cr, PLT, et.Conclusionsbuxujiedu decotion plays an effective role in the treatment of NSCLC. Combining with chemotherapy, buxujiedu decotion can has a satisfactory coordinative effect.Meanwhile, it can help to reduce side-effects brought by chemotherapy, increase patients'endurance of chemotherapy, thus support the further treatment.
