Found the living problem in Shanghai. To propose the requirements of the physiological needs, the psychological needs, the activity ways and the social communications. These points for the old people living in Shanghai better. The example of Shanghai's Changle Road, Changhua Road and the area near Suzhou river analyzed from the ageing house and environment. The author maintains the way of renewing the pattern of Shanghai's living area for old people. Such as the house design, the interior design, the landscape design, and increase the social work in the living area. Find the way to design, the way of the old people living in a convenient city. Reach the different way which are holistic update and individual update to renewing the apartment of old people. To satisfy the elderly to find a way of living at home, the way to protect Shanghai's living architectures, to perpetuate Shanghai's historic and cultural heritage. Research and design the living place for elderly in Shanghai that from micro and macro point of view.
