Design Research On “Co-Spatial Pattern” Within Apartments For The Single Elderly In Guiyang City

Since 2000,China has entered the aging society.With the rapid development of the aging in China,the proportion of such more energetic and younger the elderly as the single elderly and the elderly living alone is increasing day by day.It is a problem demanding prompt solution for whom provide the service and improvement dwelling environment.The apartments is one of the most promising building among different typs elderly facilities in China,which provides living places and elderly care services for single elderly people and elderly couples.There will be a trend to upgrade the public space in the apartment to “Co-spatial Pattern” of elderly facilities in the future,to meet the needs of whose health activities,improve whose the sense of belonging,emphasis the qualities and the design of intensification.In order to carry out more targeted research,the object of using space focuses on the solo elderlys who have a little attention and little researchs.Researching on the public space within the apartment for the elderly in guiyang.First of all,researching on the apartments for the elderly of domestic region and developed countries.It is concluded that There are different stages of an aging society,going through the change of conceptions that the apartment space design is closely related to the social,that from the simple construction of the apartment to emphasiz quality,to attach importance to life atmosphere build.Secondly,through the analysis of the characteristics of th single elderly in guiyang,it is concluded that they are healthy,energetic and sociable.By analyzing the use needs of the public space of the apartment for them,it is found that the types of the existing public space are not consistent with the use needs of them,which leads to the inefficient use of space.Then,through analysising the public space types of the apartment in guiyang,a large number of Spaces,flexible Spaces,quantitative Spaces and a small number of Spaces are obtained.Based on analysising the characteristics of the public space of the apartments,itr comes to the conclusion of six combinations of the characteristics of the public space through the pair-wise combination of four spatial characteristics: space form,space shape,space position and space area proportion.Next,the design principles and key points of upgrading the public space to "Co-spatial" are proposed.The design principles are: traffic space suitable for aging,continuous design principles;Comfort of living space and living together principles;The principle of multifunctional,visual maximization and individualized design on leisure space.According to 13 kinds of different functional Spaces have a number of design points.Finally,design example of "Co-spatial Pattern" for the single elderly apartment in guiyang in the future are proposed."The Flushbonading" mainly solves the problems of space being lack of aging designs,simplex form,low used ratio,and waste;"The Splicing" mainly solves the problems of space combination boring and low visibility;"The Transition" mainly solves the problem of space mismatching between allocation and demand,as well as insufficient vitality of closed space."Unit-group multi-level Co-spatial Pattern" has effectively enhanced the sense of acquisition of space used and belonging of home-based care for the single elderly.
