| Accompanied by the shape of China's expressway network, how to design the servicefacilities along the expressway has become a very important and urgent problem. Theexpressway service area, as the most complete functional region in service facilities alongthe expressway, provide services for the passing vehicles, the drivers and attendants andvisitors like filling, repairing, shopping, dining, rest and other services. Therefore, thestudies on designing of the expressway service area are very necessary.Because of a variety of subjective and objective reasons, the overall layout, planningand architectural design of the expressway service area didn't keep up with the demand ofthe expressway network's development and the people's growing material and culturalrequirements. At present, the research on the design of expressway service area in ourcountry just remained in the qualitative analysis and lacked the theoretical basis andpractical guidance. By comparing the domestic and international development of theexpressway service area, analyzing the.pros and cons, actively studå°¹ng the advantages offoreign design, we hoped to find the most favorable solutions to these issues.This paper analyzed and studied the expressway service area's overall layout, Planningand architectural design in Guangdong province exactly, and summarized the data whichobtained through the field research. Finally, combined with theoretical knowledge, thepaper studied on the representative design example of the expressway service area in Guangdong province to deepen the reader's awareness and understanding of the paper's design theoryabout the service area and provide them some valuable information and data. I hope that thepaper could help the relevant architects design evidence-based in subsequent design process,and make them understand the research directions of service design clearly. |
