As an important infrastructure of transportation systems,expressway has the advantages of fast running speed,large capacity and low cost of transportation,it plays an important role in the development of national economy and society.Because of the closed characteristic of the expressway,therefore,it is necessary to arrange the service facilities of expressway service area reasonably for ensuring the safety of driving vehicles and driving convenience.As a significant ancillary facility of the expressway,the reasonable arrangement of service facilities is directly related to the effective allocation of service facilities and the level of service about expressway service area,it can ensure driving vehicles more secure,more convenient and more efficient operation.Owing to the less domestic and international research on the reasonable allocation of service facilities in expressway service area,this paper makes an in-depth study on the reasonable allocation of service facilities in the expressway service area based on the domestic and international research results as well as the "Overall Planning of Expressway Service Facilities in Henan Province" project and mainly analyzes the scale of service facilities.Firstly,the paper summarizes the main function facilities of the expressway service area,these main functions of the facilities include parking lots,gas stations,vehicle maintenance centers,public toilet,restaurants,shops,accommodation and so on.Secondly,this paper makes a detailed analysis of the factors influencing the scale of expressway service area,the main parameters which influence the scale of expressway service area are obtained and the parameters are determined.Then,as an important scale parameter,the paper takes driving-into rate as the research object and constructs a predictive model of vehicle driving-into rate about expressway service area based on wavelet neural network,this paper also uses particle swarm optimization(Particle Swarm Optimization)and MATLAB programming to solve the model and verify the rationality of the model.Finally,the paper takes Henan expressway service area as an example to determine its driving-into rate and then calculates the number of parking spaces of service facilities in the service area,and compares with the number of current parking spaces in the parking lot of the service area.At last,some suggestions are given for Henan Expressway service area,it is of great significance for the planning of the existing expressway service area.
