The Research Of Sidewalk And Walking Landscape Design

Modern urban life is increasingly dependent on our traffic. The modern car-based urban traffic system continues to cause more and more serious problems and our modern urban life is deteriorating. The reason for most of these problems is that we only emphasize a need and ignore the others. In this paper, the sidewalk and walking landscape design as the main object of study will be analyzed and discussed.Sidewalk is an important public space in our city. Having this space been improved can fix some problems in our city. People, sidewalks and the environment are interrelated and influence to each other. This research focuses on the relationship among these three, in order to find out the factors of sidewalk design that improve the urban quality of life.It is hoped to wake up humanity to pay attention to this public space in city, which is most universal but easily neglected. This study also tries to understand how to design a better sidewalk in order to make people's lives better.
