The scope of the investigation was the scenic spots of the West lake of the Hangzhou,and also contained the river in the urban of Hangzhou The waterfront reigon divided into four types,which contained the large scale waterscape(the water area greater than 3hm~2),the small scale waterscape(the water area smaller than 0.3hm~2),the large liner waterscape(the channel greater than 15m),the small liner waterscape(the channel smaller than 10m).The 12 plots included:The Yuhuwan park,the Wuguitan park,the Xilihu lake;the Long bridge creek park,the Huagangguanyu park,the Quyuanfenghe park;the Yuhangtang river,the Xixi river,the Yanshan river;the Wugui stream,the Jinsha stream,the Lianhua stream,the Pipa stream of Prince Bay. In a comprehensive investigation based on the characteristics of different communities,a representative selection of waterfront green space,and in its optimized form within a longer time,the relative stability of the ecosystem as a study of artificial plant communities,a total of 42 plant communities.The results showed that: Plant species are rich ,42 plant communities involved 92 families, 186 genera and 245 species. 42 plant communities can be divided into the following 4 types: Evergreen and deciduous mixed type holding 19 samples of plant community; deciduous broad-leaved type holding 9 samples of plant community; Evergreen and deciduous conifer mixed type holding 13 samples of plant community; deciduous conifer mixed type holding 1 samples of plant community. Plant community structure, density of tree layer species average of 0.06881 per·m-2, and the average density of shrub species was 0.18845 per·m-2. Different types of waterfront green land of abundance and Simpson index: small planar waterscape > large planar waterscape > small linear waterscape >large waterscape. Gleason index: large planar waterscape > small linear waterscape > small planar waterscape > large liner waterscape. Pielou index: small linear waterscape > large planar waterscape > small planar waterscape > large liner waterscape.From June 2010 to April 2011, PM10, temperature, humidity and wind speed were measured in the tweleve plant communities. After analysis, the results showed that The PM10 annual average concentration is 0.068mg*m-3, During a year, the PM10 concentration changes sequently: autumn>summer> spring> winter,the spring,summer and autumn PM10 concentration are approximate,the winter PM10 concentration is 0.0491 mg*m-3,the Air quality is very good. The change feature of PM10 concentration in daytime is the Bimodal single-valley-type, it gets peaks from 9:00 to 10:00, also at 17:00,and then turned down. the order PM10 concentration of different structures of plant communities is:contrast> structure of shrub-grass > lawn> structure of arbor-grass> structure of arbor-bush-grass; the PM10 concentration has positive correlation with humidity and wind speed; and it has negatively correlated with temperature.AHP method is applied to establish a comprehensive evaluation model, from the visual quality, ecological efficiency and landscape quality on a comprehensive evaluation of 42 plant communities. The results showed that: the small scale waterscape> the large scale waterscape> the small liner waterscape> the large liner waterscape. comprehensive evaluation index of community gradeⅠis 30,in which the large scale waterscape is 10, the small scale waterscape is 10, the small liner waterscape is 10; gradeⅡis 10, in which the large scale waterscape is 1, the small liner waterscape is 2, the large liner waterscape is 7; gradeⅢis 2, the large liner waterscape is 2.In the course of investigation,summarized the size and water features of different plant configurations,and the waterfront garden bridges,levees,islands,streams and construction of plant configuration,meanwhile,describing the plant layout,which is designed to provide examples of Hangzhou waterfront reference.According to the existing problems, six optimization strategies were proposed:Increase plant species diversiity;encouring the use of the unique features of the characteristics of plant species;by rational,scientific promting the development of local wild plant growth;according to the embankment slope for different plant configuration;depending on the different type of plant configuration;emphasising on the conservation management of waterfront plants.
