As Web technology develops at full speed, the functions of GIS have been tremendously extended. WebGIS has expanded geographical information service, providing a newer and better platform for them to play a bigger role in the realm of Internet. However, having just supported limited function, these services can be only applied to browsing and querying statistics. Therefore, based on a comprehensive study on the development of WebGIS, this paper is supposed to set up a real-time water supply scheduling system, so as to offer clients a more prompt access to querying and decision-making operations. This system is mainly divided into two subsystems: geographical subsystem and scheduling subsystem. The former one has realized functions related to geographical information, such as zooming, shifting, eagle eye function, frame selection, buffer analysis and thematic map; while the latter one has achieved scheduling management function in water supply including starting and stopping equipments in water pump and water works. The system has been proved to be stable in running, and be able to meet clients'demands.
