Going with the advancing of the digital earth and the development of GIS technology and network technology, the achievement is outstanding in the construction of digital city, digital community and digital campus. Combined with the instance of establishing"Digital Campus", the paper brings forward the project to build Campus geographic information Publication System. Using existing basic campus geographic data, the paper initially realizes web publication of Campus geographic information. The main content in the thesis includes:1.It sums up and analyzes the concept of GIS/WebGIS and realization form and system frame of WebGIS.2.It analyzes and compares technically important characteristics of WebGIS such as web publication system progress, realization technique, and data management WebGIS platform. Web publication system model includes static picture, dynamic html and smart forepart. At present, the realization technique of WebGIS has CGI/Server API, ASP (Active Server Page), Plug-in, ActiveX, Java program.3.Via requirement analysis, the paper confirms the main function of Campus geographic information Publication System, which is the input and storage of data, the information search, the query and analysis and the interspace information share and visualization.4.Based on comparison and analysis of important WebGIS software, it brings forward the project via ArcIMS9.0 and discusses the running environment of system, the system frame and the running principium respectively.5. Based on the research of vectoring campus map, the configuring system and realization of popedom validation and the application of existing basic campus geographic data, the paper realizes web publication of Campus geographic information basically.
