Equipment is the very important material and technological foundation for modern enterprises to produce, whether the enterprise can work normally and its producing capacity result from the advancement and good technique condition of equipment. To do well in the arrangement of the development of equipment, management of equipment, allocating and technical work of equipment is very important for enterprise to strengthen its competition and supply products and services with high quality. As part of modern enterprise's production management, the planning and management of the production equipment have already become an important part in business administration.SCGC has a history of exploring earthquake for over 50 years. For a long time, especially before the reorganization and reform of the group company, because the bad effect of planning economy regulation and idea of traditional management, the company is in short of the medium and long-term unified planning for equipment of exploration and lacks the researches on advancement, perspective of planning equipment technology. The equipment is just managed in small units, and the distribution, use, maintenance of equipment is very insufficient, the maintenance of equipment is not totally in place. Recently, with the establishment of the "52135" core strategy target in Southwest branch company of China Oil Joint-stock and the "8532" strategy target of Sichuan Petroleum Management Bureau, the load of working on exploration of earthquake has increased, the requirement of equipment has greatly enlarged and the problem of lack of equipment has become more serious. In addition, with the development of new technology of earthquake exploration, the new technology, new method and new function of equipment are expected to be better. So the company should do well in development planning of equipment, reform the way of management and allocate the equipment flexibly, keep the equipment intact.This paper adopts the method of theory combining with practice and the method of quantitative analysis combining with qualitative analysis under the guidance of management and equipment management theory, make a pointy, practical analysis to the current situation of equipments and equipment management of SCGC, make clear the problems existed in the equipment management; according to this, this the paper analyses the demands for the development of earthquake exploration techniques and methods to each kind of equipment, propose 2005 - 2010 equipment development plan of SCGC on this basis; this paper discuss the implementing countermeasures of equipment development plan of SCGC, which involves the basic frame of equipment management, the countermeasures to the building of Equipment Division and equipment management.
