Since December 11st,2004,China' retailing market has opened up,foreign retailers are not restricted by stock ownership,the number of the chainstores,or the geographic region。This is a big threat to our native retailers andit of course will cause much more fierce competition.But how to gain the competitive edge to face the competition and makeour native retailers stronger to be the main part of our retailing industry? Afterstudying the related theory and cases, the writer insists that native retailersshould build a demand-pulled supply chain system with the suppliers, inwhich every business unit can share the information under the help of theinformation technology to realize the whole efficiency of the supply chain.The main viewpoints in this thesis are as follow: Firstly, to study onconsumers' demand is the foundation in the chain store operation and it's alsothe beginning point and core part of supply chain management. Secondly, tobuild a long and steady relationship with the suppliers can safeguard theefficient operation and is the base of the supply chain management. Thirdly,efficient distribution system is the key part of the supply chain system. Last,but also important, the leading information technology is crucial to the supplychain management.
