Position Management enjoys high reputation as the cornerstone for HRM, which provides a base and a backup for other HRM activities such as recruitment, salary system, performance appraisal and employee’s career development, which gives a transforming influence on other HR activities. A company’s management level rests on the HRM level, while the HRM level depends on the position management level. So, how to establish an applicable position management system has come up as a key and important subject for the company to improve his management level and obtain core competitiveness. A company’s position management system is closely related to attracting talent employees, motivating the staff and training the future general of talent etc. As the position management is the base for other HR activities, it should be deeply rooted in the company’s management and contributes to company’s goal achievements.The assay takes a private enterprise S which is reformed from a collective enterprise as the object of study to highlight his industrial line and development stage as well as the problems encountered in the HRM, especially the problems on position management. Furthermore, analysis the problems in enterprise S such as chaos of ranks, unclarity of professional levels, vague promotion channels, random post set and absence of position qualification requirements with basic position analysis methods and taking his industrial characteristics into consideration. The writer try to rehackle and re-evaluate the positions in enterprise S by time study method, interviewing method, daily work record method, questionnaire method and multi-angle factor method etc. Thus design and establish a suitable position system for enterprise S for employee motivation, lay a solid foundation for HRM and solve the HR problems during his fast development period. Furthermore, maximize the HRM efficiency.The study report consists of six chapters, in which chapter 1 is an introduction of the background and significance of the writers’object selection. Chapter 2 highlights the serial methods and theory of position management. Chapter 3 Share the backgrounds of the investigated enterprise S. Chapter 4 introduce the problems on position management and reasons analysis in investigated enterprise S. Chapter 5 mainly explains how to use the scientific position analysis methods to improve the position management in enterprise S and redesign his position system. The comparison and valuation of former and new position have been carried out in Chapter 5. Chapter 6 is a conclusion and outlook.
