Yunnan University Multimedia Classroom Management System Design And Realization

In recent years, a large number of multimedia classrooms have been set up in colleges and universities. The growing capacities, extensive demands in function, along with high frequency in usage made it more difficult to control and manage the multimedia classrooms. These problems also formed a barrier to the practice of educational technology and reform in teaching method.In accordance with the regulations and requirements to multimedia classroom management in Yunnan University, the paper discusses the designing of a campus network based management and service system, which will offer a central control and service function to the operation of multimedia classrooms. The new system will be providing a scientific, standardized way to control the multimedia equipments in the classroom and thus, improves the quality and efficiency of multimedia classroom management.The paper mainly covers the following aspects:1. Based on a detailed research to the daily operation of the multimedia classrooms in Yunnan University, the paper analyses some basic problems in classroom management, discusses the present situation, and trying to present the significance in designing of a multimedia classroom management service system.2. The paper explores some relative software development techniques, such as Multi-layer B/S, Joomla based on MVC , PHP, MySQL, makes comparison between C/S and B/S structure, and determines the technical solutions and methods.3. Taking the teachers and management stuffs'demands into consideration, the paper designs the function modules and database and sets up the modeling with UML.4. In the paper, the author designed the essential parts of the system by adopting the Joomla! framework component extension mechanism, and successfully overcame the traditional problem of massing up the data processing, program and interface code in web development.5. The paper also tries to make a conclusion about the designing and realization of the multimedia classroom management system in Yunnan University. Meanwhile, the paper discusses the future development of Joomla! framework based on MVC and its application in WEB component development and multimedia classroom management system.
